Lucas Patrick has been taking snaps at the center position this week after doctors removed the cast on his arm. Although he hasn't taken every snap in practice, it's looking more likely that he suits up at the center position this Sunday when the Chicago Bears host the Houston Texans.

Lucas Patrick and His Role On The Chicago Bears' Offensive Line

While talking with reporters earlier this week, Lucas Patrick stated he feels much better and gripping a football is fun.

When asked about returning to the center position, Patrick stated he feels comfortable playing back and forth between multiple positions on the offensive line. He says that it's a position he's played in the NFL before and he's comfortable playing both of them.

A reporter asked Patrick if he prefers a set position on the line and if he minds moving around, he responded with this:

He even went on to joke about playing defensive back if the team needed him to. But on a serious note, Patrick stated that he's fully confident in Matt Eberflus, Luke Getsy, and Ryan Poles.

He has faith in them and the direction of the Bears. He's willing to do what it takes and if that means playing center, then he will do it. Patrick didn't confirm whether or not he's starting at center, but he certainly hinted at it with his practices this past week and his comments on having faith in the leadership.

Lastly, Lucas Patrick said he feels confident in his abilities anywhere the Chicago Bears use him on the offensive line. Heading into Week 3 against the Texans, Patrick acknowledged that Houston plays a very similar defense to the Bears. He feels they have prepared well for this game and the team as a whole put in a lot of hard work leading up to it.
