Former Giants Star Reveals Team Loves This Prospect In NFL Draft
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

There has been a lot of speculation about what direction the New York Giants could go in the 2024 NFL Draft. Prominent people in the NFL world have indicated that the team will be looking for a quarterback in the draft.

During a recent episode of his show, Rich Eisen revealed that New York is done with Daniel Jones and looking to make a change. Moving up the in the draft, presumably for one of the top quarterback prospects, was floated as an idea as Joe Schoen is having buyer’s remorse.

Until a move is made, speulcation will continue to run rampant. We could also get an idea of what the team’s plans are based on how free agency goes starting next week. The Giants could show their hand when it comes to their draft plans depending on how aggressive they are in pursuing veterans.

If the Giants don’t go quarterback in the draft, one position they could target instead is wide receiver. In the opinion of former offensive lineman turned NFL analyst Sean O’Hara, one prospect sticks out among the rest for the Giants.

O’Hara recently made an appearance on NFL Network and revealed the Giants are enamored with Washignton wide receiver Rome Odunze. He has heard, should Odunze be on the board at No. 6, that is the direction the team could go in.

“I know the Giants are drooling over this guy. If he is there at six I don’t see anyway they pass him up,” O’Hara said during Odunze’s drill at the combine.

Odunze certainly has what the Giants are looking for at wide receiver. They are in desparate need for a No. 1 target in the perimeter, someone capable of winning at every level of the field. He possess the size and athleticism to be your prototypical No. 1 receiver in the NFL.

That kind of player is the only thing Big Blue is missing from their receiving core. They have excellent deep threats in Darius Slayton and Jalin Hyatt and an emerging slot receiver in Wan’Dale Robinson. Landing a player such as Odunze in the 2024 NFL Draft would help elevate this offense to another level.
